Remember, noone is expecting you to drink anything you don\u2019t like \u2013 what matters is <b><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/danish\/2012\/03\/10\/that-is-hygge\/\">hyggen<\/a> <\/b>and <b>samv\u00e6ret <\/b>(being together) that the <b>\u00f8l <\/b>helps to create. You can always ask for a <b>sodavand <\/b>(mineral water).<\/p>\n<p>Next to LEGO, beer from <b>Carlsberg <\/b>is probably the most famous Danish export to the world. Another huge <b>bryggeri<\/b> (brewery) is <b>Tuborg<\/b>. If you\u2019re a beer lover, Denmark definitively is <b>et godt sted at v\u00e6re <\/b>(a good place to be). All over the country small <b>mikrobryggerier<\/b> (micro breweries) are popping up, so there are really many <b>special\u00f8l <\/b>(special beers) to discover.<\/p>\n<p>Traditionally, Danes have been drinking light \u2013 and maybe a bit bitter \u2013 <b>bajere<\/b> (lagers). Now people in Denmark enjoy beers from all over the world, including ales and darker stuff. Maybe that\u2019s why <b>v\u00e6rtshuse <\/b>(pubs)\u00a0 often have two<b> varianter<\/b> of <b>fad\u00f8l<\/b> (draught beer) to choose from \u2013 <b>almindelig<\/b> (normal) and <b>classic<\/b>, which is <b>s\u00f8dere <\/b>(sweeter) and a bit <b>m\u00f8rkere <\/b>(darker).<\/p>\n<p>Be on the lookout for seasonal beer! \ud83d\ude42 The day when the <b>jule\u00f8l<\/b> (Christmas beer) is launched is a major event (<b>\u201dj-dag\u201d<\/b>) in many cities; <b>om for\u00e5ret <\/b>(in spring) you\u2019ll often be asked if you want <b>p\u00e5skebryg<\/b> (Easter brew)\u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>Here\u2019s a little dialogue to get you started:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><b>Turist: Hej, jeg vil gerne bede om to \u00f8l. <\/b>(Hi, I\u2019d like to ask for two beers.)<br \/>\n<b>Tjener <\/b>(waiter)<b>: Fad- eller flaske\u00f8l? <\/b>(Draught or bottled beer?)<br \/>\n<b>Turist: Fad\u00f8l, tak. <\/b>(Draught, please.)<br \/>\n<b>Tjener: Skal det v\u00e6re almindelig eller classic? <\/b>(Would you like normal or \u201dclassic\u201d beer?)<br \/>\n<b>Turist: Jeg tager \u2026 en almindelig og en classic. <\/b>(Let\u2019s see\u2026 One normal and one \u201dclassic\u201d, please.)<br \/>\n<b>Tjener: V\u00e6rsgo.
