Hvordan g\u00e5r det?<\/b> Hopefully, your answer is <b>godt<\/b> [got] (good)! \ud83d\ude42 To many people, <b>sommeren<\/b> ([the] Summer) is a time for <b>rejser<\/b> [RYEsor] (travels). Maybe you even found your way to <b>Danmark<\/b>, to enjoy the <b>byer<\/b> (towns), <b>strande<\/b> (beaches) and <b>\u00f8er <\/b>(islands) of <b>verdens lykkeligste land<\/b> (<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/danish\/2016\/03\/31\/the-worlds-happiest-people\/\">the world\u2019s happiest country<\/a>)? Here are some <b>souvenirer<\/b> you may consider bringing home:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <b>LEGO.<\/b> Even if you\u2019re not a child, you\u2019d certainly not miss the chance to fetch some <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/danish\/2014\/05\/31\/denmarks-great-little-gift-to-the-world\/\">LEGO<\/a> bricks or figurines in their country of origin! In the <b>Str\u00f8get<\/b> [STROYeth] pedestrian street of Copenhagen there even is a whole store dedicated to the famous Danish toy, which got its name from <b>leg godt<\/b> (play well).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Danish Design decoration figures. There are several of these, whose only \u201dfunction\u201d is to make you relax or smile as you catch a glimpse of them in your room. There is for example the \u201dHoptimist\u201d, which is a funny face jumping on a <b>fjeder<\/b> (spring), and the famous <b>abe<\/b> (monkey) by the designer Kay Bojesen. (\u201dDesign-ish\u201d souvenirs, unfortunately, most often fall outside of an ordinary backpacker budget\u2026)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 any figure, t-shirt, cup and so on with <b>Den lille havfrue<\/b> (<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/danish\/2012\/06\/17\/a-visit-from-china\/\">The Little Mermaid<\/a>). Okay, for Danes, this has become a kind of\u00a0 clich\u00e9. \ud83d\ude42 Of course, if it\u2019s your first time in the kingdom, it just might be the perfect memory. If you\u2019re on Bornholm, you should also consider getting a Bornholm flag (like Dannebrog, but with green instead of white).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 an <b>\u00f8loplukker<\/b> (beer bottle opener) with some kind of Danish decoration. \ud83d\ude42 Of course, if you\u2019re into that kind of stuff, you should also bring back some bottles to open\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 if you visit Denmark during <b>december<\/b>, you should definitely consider buying a little <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/danish\/2014\/12\/25\/sprites-of-christmas\/\"><b>nisse<\/b><\/a> or two. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <b>danske b\u00f8ger, blade, musik og film<\/b> (Danish books, magazines, music and films). As a devout language-learner you definetely should do some culture shopping. Due to streaming, however, CDs and DVDs might be hard to find in smaller towns\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>H.C. There are many Danish specialities you can easily carry with you, such as <b>fl\u00f8deboller<\/b> (\u201dcream puffs\u201d), <b>lakrids<\/b> (liquorice), <b>fl\u00e6skesv\u00e6r<\/b> (pork crackling), <b>ymerdrys<\/b> (roasted rye bread crumbles mixed with sugar, used as topping on yoghurt and curdled milk).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <b>sten og muslingeskaller fra stranden <\/b>(pebbles and shells from the beach). Try to find a nice <b>flintesten <\/b>(flint stone).
