Did you get the pun? \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">A <b>tudse<\/b> (toad), on the other hand, is slang for <b>et tusinde kroner<\/b> (1000 Kroner), as in <b>Det kostede kun en tudse<\/b> (It only cost 1000 Kroner).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Pay attention if your friend <b>har en r\u00e6v bag \u00f8ret<\/b> (\u201dhas a fox behind the ear\u201d). That means she\u2019s probably up to some tricks\u2026 If she\u2019s got <b>en bj\u00f8rn p\u00e5<\/b> (a bear on), however, she\u2019s merely drunk.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">If you want to help somebody install an app and end up making a mess of everything, you\u2019re really doing them a <b>bj\u00f8rnetjeneste<\/b> (bear service = \u201ddisservice with good intentions\u201d). Some old folks complain that some young folks have flip-flopped the word, making it mean \u201dfriendly favour\u201d instead. (But that\u2019s still not \u201dofficial Danish\u201d!)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">When something spooky\u2019s going on, you can say <b>Der er ugler i mosen!<\/b> (\u201dThere are owls in the bog!\u201d When there were still packs of <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/danish\/2012\/10\/18\/ulv-ulv\/\">wolves<\/a> roaming Denmark, I\u2019ve heard, people used to say \u201dthere are <b>ulve<\/b>\u2026\u201d \u2013 which makes a bit more sense!)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Do you like to make dog-ears in your <b>b\u00f8ger<\/b> (books)? In Danish, for some reason, they\u2019re called \u201ddonkey-ears\u201d (<b>\u00e6sel\u00f8rer<\/b>).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><b>G\u00e5sevin<\/b> (goose wine) is a fun way of saying <b>vand<\/b> (water).
