To get the full cultural <b>oplevelse <\/b>(experience), however, you have to engage <b>alle dine fem sanser<\/b> (all your five senses).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>H\u00f8resans<\/b> (sense of hearing) or <b>h\u00f8relse<\/b> [hur-l-seh]. <b>H\u00f8rer du hvad jeg siger?<\/b> [hur do va yi seeor] (Do you hear what I\u2019m saying?) Unless you\u2019re <b>d\u00f8v<\/b> (deaf) or <b>h\u00f8reh\u00e6mmet<\/b> (having a bad sense of hearing), my best guess would be that each <b>\u00f8re <\/b>of yours is perfectly fine. You can continue reading without <b>h\u00f8reapparat<\/b> (hearing aid). <b>Lyt lige her\u2026<\/b> (Listen up now\u2026)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Synssans<\/b> (sense of <b>syn<\/b> [<i>seen<\/i>] \u2013 sight). People who aren\u2019t <b>blind<\/b> [blinn] use <b>\u00f8jnene<\/b> to <b>se<\/b> [seh] (see). Some need the help of <b>briller<\/b> (glasses), <b>kontaktlinser<\/b> (contact lenses) \u2013 or a <b>kikkert<\/b> (pair of binoculars). <b>Hvad kigger du p\u00e5? <\/b>(What are you looking at?)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Lugtesans<\/b> (sense of smell). One of the worst things about <b>at v\u00e6re fork\u00f8let<\/b> (having a cold) is the <b>nedsat lugtesans<\/b> (reduced sense of smell) you get. <b>N\u00e6sen vil gerne lugte alle verdens lugte og dufte. <\/b>(The nose wants to smell all the world\u2019s smells and scents \u2013 well, most of them! \ud83d\ude42 ) BTW, many Danes associate the verb <b>at lugte<\/b> (to smell) with negative smells like <b>prutter<\/b> (farts), and prefer to use the verb <b>at dufte<\/b> in positive phrases like <b>roserne <\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>dufter<\/b><\/span><b> fantastisk i dag<\/b> (\u2248 \u201dthe roses are really emitting a fantastic odour today\u201d).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Smagssans<\/b> (sense of taste). <b>Tunge\/n<\/b> (the tongue) isn\u2019t only useful when having fun with tongue twisters, but also in alien encounters with yummy Danish <b>mad<\/b> (food). <b>Smager retten s\u00f8dt, surt, salt, bittert \u2013 eller som kylling? <\/b>(Does the dish taste sweet, sour, salty, bitter \u2013 or like chicken?)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>F\u00f8lesans<\/b> (sense of touch). All the Danes who have been grooving in <b>st\u00f8vregn<\/b> [sturwryen] (drizzle, literally \u201ddusty rain\u201d) in front of <b>Orange Scene<\/b> at the <b>Roskilde Festival<\/b> know how great it can be to <b>m\u00e6rke<\/b> (sense, feel) <b>regndr\u00e5berne<\/b> (the raindrops) against your face.
