Even though February is traditionally considered a <strong>vinterm\u00e5ned<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/danish\/2012\/03\/30\/seasons-of-the-year\/\">winter<\/a> month) in Denmark, the country surprisingly just jumped from <strong>frost og sne<\/strong> (frost and snow) to open <strong>blomster<\/strong> (flowers) \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dr.dk\/nyheder\/vejret\/en-usaedvanlig-februar-slutter-lunt-og-solrig\">some<\/a> say the <strong>temperatur<\/strong> increased more than 30 degrees in about a week (from -20 \u00b0C to 14\u00b0C some places)!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 108%\">Of course, <strong>for\u00e5ret<\/strong> (spring, literally \u201dthe fore-year\u201d) is a beautiful season in many places. For me, though, the contrast is particularly striking in Denmark, where so many winters are just dark and rainy (with just a few shining days of <strong>sne<\/strong>). All of a sudden, <strong>tr\u00e6erne<\/strong> (the trees) <strong>st\u00e5r i knop<\/strong> (are in bud), and the golden <strong>sol<\/strong> (sun) is filling people\u2019s faces with renewed <strong>optimisme<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 108%\">The transformation of spring is so magical in Denmark that many songs have been written about it. The following song, which many Danes know from pop singer Kim Larsen\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=slXDetXwQbw\">rendition<\/a>, nicely captures the mood.
