You have probably seen the debate between Clinton and Trump last Monday. It was watched by more than 80 million people, not counting people following it online. That is a vast amount! It also did not go unnoticed in other parts of the world, and also news outlets in the Netherlands reports on the important election – one outlet,\u00a0de Volkskrant<\/em>, even went as far as releasing a\u00a0Donald Trump Votewiser<\/em>. Stemwijzer<\/em><\/h2>\n

In the Netherlands, elections are usually paired with a\u00a0stemwijzer<\/em>, which is a combination of the words st<\/em>emmen\u00a0<\/em>(to vote) and\u00a0wijzen\u00a0<\/em>(to point towards). So a stemwijzer\u00a0<\/em>points you towards the party or candidate you should vote for. This works by answering a list of questions about political points. The party that you agree with most could then be the party you vote for. Quite useful!<\/p>\n

Now, de Volkskrant\u00a0<\/em>(the People’s Paper, which is a literal translation that they also give in the\u00a0Votewiser<\/em>) built one for Donald Trump. Kinda. About the translation:\u00a0Votewiser\u00a0<\/em>is just a play of words, where\u00a0vote\u00a0<\/em>is translated properly, and\u00a0wiser\u00a0<\/em>just sounds like\u00a0wijzer<\/em> pronounced in English. Maybe\u00a0the paper also wants to imply that you will vote\u00a0wiser\u00a0<\/em>after completing it!<\/p>\n
