Actually, I did this last year as well, since I live here, but I think the pictures from this year came out better.\u00a0 So for those of you who might have missed it, here&#8217;s a little bit of Koninginnedag to brighten your day.<\/p>\n<p>Our day started with walking along the Prinsengracht, where all the party boats meet. It&#8217;s one big party on the canal, but all those boats have to fight to get under the bridges.\u00a0 Although the day started out a bit rainy and dreary, by mid-afternoon the sun was shining.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q1.jpg\" aria-label=\"Q1 300x225\"><img loading=\"lazy\" of loud dance music, and hair gel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q5.jpg\" aria-label=\"Q5 300x225\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-581  aligncenter\" title=\"Leidseplein Crowd 2\"  alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q5-300x225.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q4.jpg\" aria-label=\"Q4 300x225\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-580 src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q4-300x225.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Vondelpark is reserved for the children selling things.\u00a0 I think it&#8217;s one of my favorite places to be on Koninginnedag because it&#8217;s a little more laid-back.\u00a0 I snapped a picture of a lady with a bakfiets full of puppies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q6.jpg\" aria-label=\"Q6 300x225\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-582\" title=\"Koninginnedag Vondelpark\"  alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q6-300x225.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They had set up a large stage on the Museumplein, near the Rijksmuseum, where there were DJ&#8217;s&#8230;and lots of teenagers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q7.jpg\" aria-label=\"Q7 300x225\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-583\" title=\"Koninginnedag Museumplein\"  alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/dutch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2010\/05\/q7-300x225.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And no recounting of Koninginnedag would be complete if I didn&#8217;t at least mention the trash.\u00a0 The garbage collection agencies have been going on strike throughout this year, and decided that the best day to make a really big point would be on Koninginnedag.\u00a0 So all across the country, bar and club owners are incredibly mad because the trash from Koninginnenacht was then covered in trash from Koninginnedag, and currently the cities are&#8230;messy.\u00a0 The strike is said to end on Monday, but until then we&#8217;re stuck with a bit of a mess.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<img width=\"350\" height=\"263\"
