If you can’t attend the Olympics (like most people) there still are many ways to feel like you are there: by watching the Games on TV, reading about the Games, and exploring information online about the 2012 Games.\u00a0 Today I have an activity for you related to the Olympics and a way to practice your English while learning more about what is happening at the Olympic Games.\u00a0 The following is an Internet site that is devoted to the 2012 Olympic Game: http:\/\/www.london2012.com\/<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

If you click on this link you can explore many aspects of the current Olympics while reading about the games in English.\u00a0 For example you can see what the Olympic medals look like, find a full schedule of the sporting events, get directions to the different venues*, and select different sports in order to receive up-to-date information about their competitions.\u00a0 Now, I am sure sites like this exist in every language, but if you are truly looking for a way to practice your English over the next few weeks and you plan on following the Olympic games, you can use this website to really work on your reading and comprehension skills in English while also following your favorite sports.<\/p>\n

To get you started and help get you become familiar with this site I have created a little scavenger hunt** for this website.\u00a0 By clicking around and trying to find the answers to the questions below you will have to practice your English reading skills and you may even learn something in the process.\u00a0 I will post the answers to this scavenger hunt tomorrow.<\/p>\n
