Of course you could just look up synonyms for the word happy and say something like:<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m <em>content<\/em>.<br \/>\nI\u2019m <em>glad<\/em>.<br \/>\nI\u2019m <em>delighted<\/em>.<br \/>\nI\u2019m <em>overjoyed<\/em>.<br \/>\nI\u2019m <em>elated<\/em>.<br \/>\nI\u2019m <em>ecstatic<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>But, if you want to be more creative and really show off your English language skills I have some more colorful expressions and phrases you can use to talk about people being happy and let other people know how happy you are on a special day, like: a birthday, wedding, graduation, after getting a promotion at work, when your child is born, if you win the lottery, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Happy expressions:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>happy as a clam<\/strong><\/em> = \u202fvery happy<br \/>\nThis expression is sometimes said \u201cHappy as a clam at high tide.\u201d which gives it a little more context to the expression, as clams must be very happy in the water.<br \/>\nExample: <em>Jan is happy as a clam when she gets to leave work an hour early on Friday afternoons.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>happy as can be<\/strong><\/em> = can not be happier<br \/>\nExample: <em>Bob was happy as can be as he sat on a rock fishing in the sun.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>a happy camper<\/strong><\/em> = content<br \/>\nExample: <em>Millie is a happy camper as long as she can watch her favorite TV show each week.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>walking on sunshine<\/strong><\/em> = very happy<br \/>\nExample: <em>I\u2019m walking on sunshine today because I just found out that I passed my entrance exam.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>on cloud nine<\/strong><\/em> = a state of blissful happiness<br \/>\nExample: <em>Jean was on cloud nine when Ben asked her to marry him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>tickled pink<\/strong><\/em> = delighted<br \/>\nThis expression likely comes from the fact that some people\u2019s faces turn red or pink when they are excited\/happy.<br \/>\nExample: <em>Elizabeth was tickled pink to finally meet her new niece for the first time.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>bursting at the seams with happiness<\/strong><\/em> = overjoyed<br \/>\nThis expression implies that one is so full of happiness it is breaking through (i.e. bursting through) their clothes to come out.<br \/>\nExample: <em>Joe looked like he was bursting at the seams with happiness as he told us all about his engagement.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>in seventh heaven<\/strong><\/em> = a very happy state<br \/>\nExample: <em>I was in seventh heaven when my dad gave me the keys to the car and said it was mine.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<img width=\"275\" height=\"184\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2013\/03\/happy.jpg\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image tmp-hide-img\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><p>Today we are going to look at a number of different ways you can let people know you are happy.
