Well, if that has ever happened to you while you were speaking English it shouldn\u2019t happen again after you read this post. Today I am going to introduce you to vocabulary to use when you are angry.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with some different words in English that all mean the same thing as \u201cangry.\u201d I\u2019ve listed these synonyms with anger below in order from the least strong to most strong. So, if you are looking for a word to say you are &#8216;a little angry&#8217; pick one near the top of the list and if you are looking for a word to say you are &#8216;really really angry&#8217;, choose a word from the bottom of the list.<\/p>\n<p><em>mad<\/em><br \/>\n<em>irritated<\/em><br \/>\n<em>indignant<\/em><br \/>\n<em>furious<\/em><br \/>\n<em>incensed<\/em><br \/>\n<em>livid<\/em><br \/>\n<em>outraged<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Here are some examples of how to use these words.<br \/>\nI\u2019m so <em>mad<\/em> right now I can\u2019t talk to you.<br \/>\nI get so <em>irritated<\/em> by Jill I can\u2019t be around her.<br \/>\nThomas is <em>indignant<\/em> that he was not given the raise he was expecting.<br \/>\nMy mother was <em>furious<\/em> when we broke the window while playing ball in the house.<br \/>\nI\u2019m so <em>incensed<\/em> I can\u2019t think straight!<br \/>\nYou should be <em>outraged<\/em> that the person who hit your car just drove away.<br \/>\nSammy was <em>livid<\/em> when he found out his computer was stolen.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some phrasal verbs you can also use when you are angry. They all mean, \u2018that makes me angry.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><em>That really gets to me.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>That ticks me off. <\/em><br \/>\n<em>That pisses me off.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You can also you use these phrasal verbs to explain your anger:<\/p>\n<p><em>It gets to me when\u2026<\/em><br \/>\n<em>It really ticks me off when you do\u2026<\/em><br \/>\n<em>It pisses me off when\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And finally here are some words or phrases you can say when you are just too angry to talk about what is bothering you:<\/p>\n<p><em>Damn it.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Shove off.<\/em> \u2013 This means something like \u2018go away.\u2019<br \/>\n<em>sh*t, f*ck<\/em>, or any other swear word in English<br \/>\n<em>For f*ck\u2019s sake!<\/em> \u2013 This is an expression of disbelief and anger.<br \/>\n<em>You have got to sh*tting me!<\/em> &#8211; This is another expression of both disbelief and anger.<\/p>\n<p>I hope that you don\u2019t get angry that often and need to use this new vocabulary, but now you will know it when you feel the need to use it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<img width=\"350\" height=\"234\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2015\/09\/anger-350x234.jpg\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image tmp-hide-img\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2015\/09\/anger-350x234.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2015\/09\/anger.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><p>Nothing is worse than being really angry about something and not being able to express yourself and your anger; that is, not having the words to say what you want.
