This is a great, cheap way to get a view of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. You may even see her back on land, as well as some art for sale.

A short walk through Bowling Green will bring you to the Charging Bull, a symbol of the can-do spirit of the city and the US in general. Nearby, you’ll find the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street. This is home to one of the world’s leading financial markets.

Just a few blocks away is Trinity Church. Believe it or not, this Gothic Revival church was once the tallest building in the city.

That honor now belongs to One World Trade Center, home to the 9/11 Memorial. Two square pools sit where the Twin Towers once stood.

In the afternoon, head to the Chelsea neighborhood and grab lunch at Company. It’s not your traditional New York pizza here but it sure is delicious! Wash it down with a craft beer and be sure to save room for dessert.

After lunch, take a walk on the High Line. This elevated park was created on a former railroad line, and is a great place for a stroll. Along the way, you’ll see lots of interesting art and statues.

Another great place to relax for a bit is Washington Square Park. Take in the Washington Square Arch, which celebrates the centennial of the first president’s inauguration. You’ll hear local musicians jamming out, so sit down and stay a while. Some people just can’t resist jumping in the fountain.

Keep walking, and you’ll a replica of the house where Teddy Roosevelt lived, the Metropolitan Life Clocktower, and the Flatiron Building. You’ll eventually arrive at Madison Square Park, where you can take another breather.

After that busy day, head to the Frying Pan on the Hudson River for some dinner and a drink. That wraps up an awesome 48 hours in New York City!

With only 48 hours in New York City, you have no choice but to make them both busy days.
