Did you remember to observe World Water day this year? On March 22, <strong>World Water Day<\/strong> is held by many countries worldwide. Its main goal is to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of freshwater. And us too, of course, should pay tribute\u00a0to this invaluable natural resource. Today&#8217;s post will round up a few useful verbs and words related to water &#8211; and in some cases, liquids in general. Have a look at the examples below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEAK<\/strong>: <em>when contents manage to escape through a hole or a crack<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The radiator in the kitchen is<strong> leaking<\/strong>, the landlord told me he would come by later to fix it.<\/li>\n<li>Whenever it rains, the bedroom roof starts <strong>leaking<\/strong> because there is a hole.<\/li>\n<li>I can&#8217;t stand this <strong>leaky<\/strong> faucet anymore! That wet rag you picked up is <strong>dripping<\/strong> all over the floor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SPLASH<\/strong>: <em>when a liquid hits something or someone or when it spatters in all directions<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;m so sleepy, I need to <strong>splash<\/strong> some water on my face.<\/li>\n<li>That big wave hit the rock then <strong>splashed<\/strong> on everyone nearby.<\/li>\n<li>My holidays were great, the kids had a great time <strong>splashing<\/strong> around the lake.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>POUR<\/strong>: <em>when a liquid flows from one container into another<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excuse me, waiter? Did you forget your umbrella again?<\/li>\n<li>You have to <strong>soak<\/strong> the chickpeas overnight to make hommus.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217; had such a stressful day, I need to <strong>soak<\/strong> in the bath to relax for a bit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SPILL<\/strong> : <em>when a liquid falls over the edge of a container by accident or onto a surface<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pay attention, Joey! You&#8217;re <strong>spilling<\/strong> milk all over the floor,<\/li>\n<li>Oh no! I just <strong>spilled<\/strong> coffee on my brand new shirt!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, what did you think?
