Star Trek had yet to grace the television screens of science fiction fans. A young William Shatner was but another actor looking to make his big break. The entirely Esperanto film <em><strong>Angoroj<\/strong><\/em> (Agonies) had been produced a year earlier, thereby demonstrating that movies could indeed be made in Esperanto. And so the stage was set for the horror classic <em><strong>Inkubo<\/strong><\/em> (Incubus).<\/p>\n<p><em>Inkubo<\/em> is a black-and-white fantasy-horror film that centers around Shatner as a soldier of deep religious conviction. A succubus aims to seduce him, but soon falls in love with his great strength of character. Unfortunately for the succubus, her family does not take kindly to her decision, and so they begin to wreak havoc upon poor Shatner and his family.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a soft spot for old horror movies, or for William Shatner, <em>Inkubo<\/em> is definitely worth a look. I know that the SciFi network released an updated DVD of the movie after they funded a restoration project of it. You might be able to find it at your local movie rental outlet. Copies on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Incubus-William-Shatner\/dp\/B000059OLR\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=dvd&amp;qid=1237351439&amp;sr=1-1\">Amazon.com<\/a> (where it goes by <em>Incubus<\/em> on the DVD cover) run for less than $12 US, so if you have an unused gift card floating around, it would certainly be worth your investment!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The year was 1965.
