FUN WITH INFIXES<\/span><\/p>\n Many other languages have a special grammar form for a continuation of an action. In Latin, there is the “imperfect tense,” denoting something as not only occurring in the past, but also occurring over and over again. Esperanto has a similar feature: the infix -ad-, with the added luxury of using it in any tense. For example:<\/p>\n Kiel vi fartas?<\/strong> – How are you doing?<\/p>\n Kiel vi fartadis? <\/strong>– How have you been?<\/p>\n Mi vidos televidon tiunokto.<\/strong> – I will watch TV tonight.<\/p>\n Mi vidados televidon tiunokto. <\/strong>– I will be watching TV tonight.<\/p>\n This is very helpful, especially when someone asks “Kiel vi,” because you can give them a more accurate answer.
