Hi guys! Jennie, your traduction (translation) is impeccable ! And I must say, tu as raison, it is the weekend, a very good reason pour se relaxer (to relax) and mettre de côté (put aside) les choses intellectuelles !

That is why I would like you to discover a really fun video, a little bit in the style of the “Flight of the Conchord”, who are not so surprisingly un franc succès (a great success) in the French classes destined to the beginner and intermediate levels. If you don’t know them yet, you should definitely check their grand tube (big hit) titled “Foux de Fa Fa”, with their pêle-mêle (higgledy-piggledy?) references to “la baguette“, “le jus d’orange“, “le pamplemousse“, and even, go figure, “Jacques Cousteau” !

You can easily tell that the group, called “Art vs. Science”, is not French, especially from their English pronunciation, which does not have “Ze French” accent with which we are only too familiar !

At any rate, they are an interesting group from le pays des kangourous et des koalas… Oui, it is l’Australie !

Here are les paroles (the lyrics) of this chanson (song) with un air assez entraînant (a rather catchy tune – I guess it is?)

Le titre (the title) is called… “Parlez-vous Français” !Regalez-vous ! (Enjoy!)

“The Champs-Elysees is a busy street!
We getting down with everyone we meet.
If you understand, then listen to me:
Si’l vous plait ma cherie allez tombez la chemise!

Le Chorus

“Parlez-vous  Français?
Parlez-vous  Français?
Si tu peux le parler allez tombez la chemise

(Awesome riff de guitare here. Pas mal du tout !)

“Do it now, because you can and I think you should.
Do it now, because you can and I told you to.
Do it now, because you can, I’ll take mine off too.
Do it now, because you can, ‘coz you caaannnn..

Got people moving up and down like an elevator.
I’m keepin’ it cool like a kelvinator,
Got binoculars for my sexy neighbours –
They always in the yard doing cha cha cha..

Hi! I’m looking for blogs written by french speakers. I’m especially excited to find blogs by young women and/or gay women about trying to conceive, photography, LGBTQ community and culture, and American politics. Any ideas of where to look?

  3. Kisa:

I believe you are referring to “Flight of the CONCHORDS”, Monsieur Hichem, which I happen to have studied…. 🙂 .At any rate, your articles are très classy & tout à fait charmant. Keep up the good work.
