Prominently highlighting your\u00a0French skills<\/strong>\u00a0on your\u00a0CV<\/strong>\u00a0can be very good for a relevant\u00a0language-related job.<\/p>\n

But you know what? Sending along a\u00a0French version<\/strong>\u00a0of your\u00a0r\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is actually even more impressive, if not an absolute requirement in many cases!<\/p>\n

Since there are plenty of websites and resources that show you how to write a good\u00a0r\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0in English in terms of its\u00a0forme<\/strong><\/em>, today’s post will focus on its French\u00a0contenu\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(content.)<\/p>\n

Keep in mind that writing your CV in French is actually more than simply translating it, and that a French\u00a0r\u00e9sum\u00e9\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is not necessarily presented in the same fashion as in other countries.<\/p>\n

You must also know that although the word\u00a0r\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is itself originally French, it is a\u00a0“<\/strong>false cognate”: The French actually say “un<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0CV<\/strong><\/em>” or “un<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0curriculum vitae<\/em><\/strong>“, since the word\u00a0r\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0simply means “summary” in French!<\/p>\n
