(<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/%e2%80%9cf-comme%e2%80%a6%e2%80%9d-b-a-ba-de-l%e2%80%99argot-%e2%80%98f%e2%80%99-2-the-abc-of-french-slang-%e2%80%98f%e2%80%99-2\/\">* \u201cF comme\u2026\u201d B.A.-BA de l\u2019Argot: \u2018F\u2019 [2] (the ABC of French Slang: \u2018F\u2019 [2])<\/a>),meaning &#8220;to feel totally lazy, like not doing anything at all&#8221;? Well, the verb <strong><em>glander<\/em> <\/strong>has pretty much the same significance. If you like <strong><em>glander<\/em><\/strong>, then<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>you&#8217;re technically called a <strong>&#8220;<em>glandeur<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; (somehting like a &#8220;lazy bum&#8221;); which brings us to this song by the French group <strong>&#8220;Billy Ze Kid&#8221;<\/strong>, otherwise\u00a0famous for a 90&#8217;s hit song by the title of &#8220;<strong><em>Mangez-moi!<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; The song in question\u00a0is called &#8220;<strong><em>La Revanche du Glandeur<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; (&#8220;The Lazy Bum&#8217;s Revenge&#8221;):<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1dp0UbRAMPY\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1dp0UbRAMPY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Notice that the refrain (the chorus) says:<br \/>\n<strong><em>&#8220;Si le ciel est gris, je reste au lit <\/em><\/strong>(If the sky is grey, I stay in bed)<br \/>\n<strong><em>Si le ciel est bleu, je reste au pieu!&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>(If the sky is blue, I stay in &#8220;bed&#8221; [too]),\u00a0as &#8220;pieu&#8221; (literally &#8220;stake&#8221;)\u00a0is just another <em>argotique<\/em> term for bed!<\/p>\n<p>A related or synonymous\u00a0experssion to <strong>&#8220;<em>tirer\u00a0sa\u00a0flemme<\/em>&#8221; <\/strong>and <strong>&#8220;<em>glander<\/em>&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>contains the verb from the next entry (<strong><em>gober<\/em><\/strong>)<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0namely the\u00a0expression <strong>&#8220;<em>gober les mouches<\/em>&#8220;<\/strong>, the literal meaning of which is\u00a0 &#8220;to swallow\u00a0flies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">* GOBER:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<\/em>This verb means &#8220;to swallow&#8221; or &#8220;to gobble&#8221;, either literally or figuratively, as in to believe something easily, or &#8220;to fall for something.&#8221; Put negatively, like when you say: <strong>&#8220;<em>Je ne peux vraiment\u00a0pas\u00a0gober\u00a0ce mec!<\/em>&#8220;<\/strong>, it means &#8220;I really can&#8217;t stand this guy!&#8221;<br \/>\nAlso, see the expression &#8220;<em>gober les mouches<\/em>&#8221; from the previous entry (<strong><em>glander<\/em><\/strong>), which means &#8220;to swallow or to gobble flies.&#8221;<br \/>\nNeedless to say<em>, <\/em>this expression is not to be taken<em> au sens litt\u00e9ral <\/em>(in the literal sense)<em>&#8230; <\/em>like this one<em> &#8220;<\/em><strong>Flanby<\/strong><em>&#8220;<\/em> cat, a.k.a<em>\u00a0&#8220;<strong>le chat gobeur de mouches!!&#8221;<\/strong> <\/em>(&#8220;the flies-eating cat!!&#8221;)<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Flanby, le chat gobeur de mouches 1\/2\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/U9v-lS00cDk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
