Comme<\/em> and comment<\/em> are two similar words but are used differently. Let’s learn today how to use one or the other.<\/p>\n

Comme<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Comme is used as a conjunction with the meaning of “as” and “since”.<\/em><\/p>\n

Le t\u00e9l\u00e9phone a sonn\u00e9 juste comme <\/strong>j’entrais dans mon appartement. [The phone was ringing as <\/strong>I was entering my apartment.]<\/em>
\nComme <\/strong>elle n’est pas l\u00e0, je vais le faire. [Since <\/strong>she’s not here, I’m going to do it.]<\/em>
\nComme <\/strong>la voiture est en panne, il faut aller \u00e0 pied. [As <\/strong>the car is broken, we have to go on foot.]<\/p>\n

2. Comme also expresses comparison, “like”, “the same as”, “the way that”.<\/em><\/p>\n

Je pense comme <\/strong>vous. [I think like you.]<\/em>
\nRapide comme <\/strong>l’\u00e9clair. [As fast as a lightning]<\/em>
\nRaide comme <\/strong>la justice. [As strict as justice]<\/em>
\nTout s’est pass\u00e9 comme <\/strong>je l’avait pr\u00e9dit. [Everything happened as I had expected.]<\/em><\/p>\n

3. Comme is used as an exclamative adverb or to express a certain quality.<\/em><\/p>\n

Comme <\/strong>elle est belle! [How beautiful she is!]<\/em>
\nComme <\/strong>il fait chaud! [It is so hot!]<\/em>
\nComme <\/strong>il a chang\u00e9! [He has changed so much!]<\/em><\/p>\n

Il \u00e9tait comme <\/strong>fou. [He was acting crazy.]<\/em>
\nIl est comme <\/strong>d\u00e9sorient\u00e9. [He seems confused.]<\/em><\/p>\n

Comment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Comment<\/em> means “how”.<\/p>\n

Comment <\/strong>\u00e9crit-on votre nom? [How do you spell your name?]<\/em>
\nJe me demande comment <\/strong>tu as pu faire. [I wonder how you did it.]<\/em>
