We are not talking about “Schwartzie<\/strong>” (Arnold Schwarzenegger’s nickname in France, or “Arnie” for everyone else) with his most notorious: “I’ll Be Back.<\/em>“<\/strong><\/p>\n

Non<\/em>, pas du tout <\/em>(no, not at all),\u00a0this time the one who\u00a0is\u00a0making a comeback\u00a0is another acteur<\/em>, whose first\u00a0shot to fame came at about the same time as\u00a0Schwartzie’s, <\/em>although the two actors do in fact share some other\u00a0distinctive\u00a0features, as they both\u00a0moved to America from Europe chasing\u00a0\u00a0“le r\u00eave am\u00e9ricain<\/em>” (the “American Dream”): Arnie from l’Autriche<\/em> (Austria) and, the actor\u00a0in question,\u00a0Jean-Claude Van Damme<\/strong>, from la Belgique<\/strong>. <\/em>They also both\u00a0didn’t get rid of\u00a0their original\u00a0accents throughout their careers, even though “ze French accent<\/em>” of\u00a0Jean-Claude\u00a0tends to be\u00a0a bit less conspicuous to the ear than its German counterpart\u00a0for Arnie. The reason is to be found, as Van Damme would\u00a0later confess,\u00a0in the fact that\u00a0he learned and improved his\u00a0English mostly by watching many episodes of\u00a0le dessin anim\u00e9<\/em>\u00a0“Les Pierrafeu” <\/em><\/strong>(“The Flintstones” cartoon) in its original -English- version!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
