The French song you are about to hear is called “Boum!!<\/strong><\/span>” (Yes, that’s the French spelling of the English “Boo<\/span>m<\/strong>“), which was prominently featured in a rather dramatic scene of the brand new 007<\/strong> movie<\/strong>\u00a0“Skyfall<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

But unlike dynamite, C-4, nitroglycerin, or Semtex-based explosions of which James Bond\u00a0<\/strong>is such a “bloody expert” (actually more of the old-fashioned dynamite for the late James “Blond<\/strong>“, though hopefully that won’t be a major spoiler there), the “Boom” which French singer Charles Trenet<\/strong> refers to in this song is of a radically different kind: It’s a boom qui vient du c\u0153ur <\/strong><\/em>(which comes from the heart.)<\/p>\n

The whole distinction is akin to the French expression “coup de foudre<\/em><\/span>“<\/strong>, which literally translates into “a stroke of lightning<\/strong>“, but can also stand for “love at first sight.<\/strong>”<\/p>\n
