Where at?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Montmartre<\/strong><\/span>, Paris&#8217;s most picturesque (and therefore &#8220;touristy&#8221;) neighborhood!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Shopping at Montmarte with Ines (6)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r86NQI52k4I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Bonjour<\/strong><\/em>, today we&#8217;ll join <strong>Ines de la Fressange<\/strong> (could be her real name) for a little shopping at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Montmartre<\/strong>, Paris&#8217;s most artistic neighborhood<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The place tends to be a bit &#8220;touristy&#8221;, which may explain why Parisians do not often go there.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, it is\u00a0<em><strong>tr\u00e8s ravissant<\/strong><\/em> (very beautiful), as Ines points out, who tells her viewers that they are &#8220;too lucky to know her&#8221; (&#8220;<strong><em>trop de chance de la conna\u00eetre.<\/em><\/strong>&#8220;)<\/p>\n<p>First, Ines drops by the store &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Belle de Jour<\/strong><\/em><\/span>&#8220;, which literally means &#8220;Beauty of the Day&#8221;, or &#8220;Beautiful during the Day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Now, you&#8217;re probably wondering: &#8220;And how about during the night?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As you know&#8221;, Ines says (well, I for one didn&#8217;t), &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Roger Vivier<\/strong><\/span> designed <strong><em>les souliers <\/em><\/strong>(the shoes) of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Catherine Deneuve<\/strong><\/span> in &#8220;<em><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Belle de Jour<\/span>.<\/strong><\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This was a movie adaptation of a French novel by &#8220;Lost Generation&#8221; filmmaker <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Louis\u00a0Bu\u00f1uel<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, the Montmartre store by the same name offers <strong><em>parfums <\/em><\/strong>(perfumes),\u00a0<em><strong>savons <\/strong><\/em>(soaps), <strong><em>vaporisateurs <\/em><\/strong>(sprays), and bottles that come in all sizes and shapes.<\/p>\n<p>Next, Ines goes down <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><em>rue des Abbesses<\/em><\/strong><\/span>, where she gets into a store that offers a virtual trip to South America.<\/p>\n<p>Objects that typically come from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Guatemala<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Peru<\/strong><\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Mexico<\/strong><\/span> can be bought there at a pretty good price.<\/p>\n<p>The French lady seems to have a soft spot for\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><em>les petits squelettes <\/em><\/strong><\/span>(little skeletons.)<\/p>\n<p>According to her, this store is the only place in Paris where one can buy <strong><em>la poup\u00e9e tracas <\/em><\/strong>(worry dolls)&#8230; (Did you understand what it is for?)<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Ines, who is used to take people to little charming places, says that &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Emmanuelle Zysman<\/strong><\/span>&#8221; is\u00a0<strong><em>un endroit infernal <\/em><\/strong>(&#8220;one hell of a place.&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>How so?<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;infernal ambiance&#8221; is reflected in\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><em>boucles d&#8217;oreilles <\/em><\/strong><\/span>(earrings) made of coral and gold.
