Today’s post tells l’histoire<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>(the story) of\u00a0<\/span>Little Jack<\/strong>, a boy born in\u00a0<\/span>l’\u00c9cosse\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(Scotland)\u00a0on what is said to have been\u00a0<\/span>le jour le plus froid du monde\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(the coldest day in the world), nearly a century and a half ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

On that fateful day, baby Little Jack had his\u00a0c\u0153ur gel\u00e9<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(heart frozen.)<\/p>\n

A mysterious midwife, called\u00a0Docteur<\/em>\u00a0Madeleine<\/a><\/strong>, carefully replaced his heart with a\u00a0pendule \u00e0 coucou<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(cuckoo-clock.)<\/p>\n

The transplant worked just fine…<\/p>\n

But it did not work just anyhow.<\/p>\n

It functioned according to some very specific conditions.<\/p>\n

Most important of all these conditions was the Little Jack was to never, ever, fall in love.<\/p>\n

All his life, Little jack lived worry-free.<\/p>\n

That is, until the day he met Andalusian singer\u00a0Miss Acacia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They say I was born with a frozen heart<\/p>\n

On dirait m\u00eame qu’on m’a port\u00e9 \u00e0 bout de ventre<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

It looks even like I got out of the womb<\/p>\n

On top of the hill overlooking the city… And its steeples!<\/p>\n

Up there, lived in a strange house, a midwife said to be crazy by all the inhabitants<\/p>\n

When in fact she spent her time reparing the lost and \u00a0broken people, legal and illegal alike<\/p>\n

Her big notched scissors stuck between my bones<\/p>\n

She slipped through a clock into my iced remains to replace my little frozen heart<\/p>\n

First of all, do not touch your clock hands<\/p>\n

Deuxi\u00e8ment, ta col\u00e8re tu devras maitriser\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Second, you must contain your anger<\/p>\n

Et surtout ne jamais oublier, quoi qu’il arrive<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

And especially never forget, no matter what happens<\/p>\n

Ne jamais se laisser tomber amoureux<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Never let your self fall in love<\/p>\n

Car alors pour toujours, \u00e0 l’horloge de ton coeur<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Because the forever, within your heart clock<\/p>\n
