Musique de Roch Voisine!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes,\u00a0nothing seems to be\u00a0easier than feeling\u00a0<em><strong>nostalgique<\/strong> <\/em>about your\u00a0<strong><em>jeune<\/em><\/strong> <em><strong>enfance<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(young childhood.) But then you should try to think again,\u00a0putting things in a\u00a0clearer and more objective\u00a0perspective, until you remember when you\u00a0were a\u00a0boy who&#8217;s not even ten years old yet, and all\u00a0you could hear\u00a0playing all day long\u00a0in <em>la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision\u00a0<\/em>or <em>la radio <\/em>were songs that you and your buddies\u00a0dismissed as\u00a0<em>des <strong>chansons de mauviettes<\/strong> <\/em>(&#8220;wussy&#8221; or &#8220;wimpy&#8221;\u00a0songs), with nothing else but that, 24\/7&#8230; <em><strong>Quel cauchemar !<\/strong> <\/em>(What a nightmare!)<\/p>\n<p>And of course, you\u00a0only\u00a0had\u00a0<em><strong>quelques K7<\/strong> <\/em>(read cassettes) that you&#8217;re allowed to buy from your &#8220;own&#8221; hard-earned <em><strong>argent de poche<\/strong> <\/em>(pocket money), because at that time there were no such revolutionary\u00a0tools as\u00a0<strong>Youtube<\/strong> or <strong>iTunes!<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><strong><em>Oui d&#8217;accord<\/em>, that&#8217;s the Dawson guy,\u00a0not Roch Voisine, but he&#8217;s definitely\u00a0acting like a <em>mauviette<\/em> here!<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Naturally, Roch Voisine&#8217;s hit-songs didn&#8217;t have a hard time\u00a0fitting into our <em>r\u00e9pertoire <\/em>of <em>chansons de mauviettes, <\/em>a.k.a. <em>&#8220;<strong>de pleurnichons<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; (of &#8220;cry-babies&#8221;) -together of course\u00a0with so many other French songs of that time\u00a0that can&#8217;t possibly\u00a0be exhaustively\u00a0listed here in\u00a0just one blog post- but nearly\u00a0<em>vingt ans apr\u00e8s <\/em>(twenty years later), looking\u00a0back at them makes it an interesting &#8220;<em><strong>voyage dans le pass\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>&#8220;, or if you prefer, a\u00a0&#8220;<strong>blast from the past<\/strong>&#8220;!<\/p>\n<p><em>Plus s\u00e9rieusement <\/em>(on a more serious note), if you look close you will find in today&#8217;s featured\u00a0song a few references\u00a0to much older songs that\u00a0have already been presented\u00a0here in <strong>The French Blog <\/strong>(see the links\u00a0available in\u00a0the lyrics), with some <em>allusions<\/em>\u00a0being more obvious than others.<\/p>\n<p><em>Et encore plus s\u00e9rieusement <\/em>(and on an even more serious note), I think it&#8217;s safe to say\u00a0today that\u00a0<em>lorsque nous \u00e9tions\u00a0plus jeunes\u00a0<\/em>(when we were younger), we listened more\u00a0to <em><strong>la musique voisine du Rock<\/strong> <\/em>(music neighboring Rock) than\u00a0<strong><em>la musique de\u00a0Roch Voisine<\/em><\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>For those who don&#8217;t know what the family name of the French-Canadian singer means, it\u00a0is &#8220;a (female) neighbor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Et pourtant <\/em>(and yet), having said that, we let you now mellow out with Roch Voisine&#8217;s song called\u00a0&#8220;<strong>Pourtant<\/strong>&#8221; (&#8220;Yet.)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Roch Voisine \/ Pourtant\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mQHkMCw34M8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>N.B.
