Dansequ\u00e2<\/em> is a French word you will never find in any dictionnaire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The story behind this mot bizarre<\/strong> (strange word) goes back to when I first started learning French. I remember hearing my teacher say \u201cdansequ\u00e2<\/em>\u201d and understanding it dans son contexte<\/strong> (in context) as meaning something like \u201cbecause\u201d or \u201ctaking that into consideration\u201d, but I had never seen the word written down.<\/p>\n

Try as I might I could not figure out just how you should write it, and my teacher ne pouvait pas comprendre<\/strong> (could not understand) what I was talking about either. I knew the word existed though, j\u2019\u00e9tais s\u00fbr<\/strong> (I was sure) I had heard it and j’\u00e9tais s\u00fbr<\/strong> that the French used it!<\/p>\n

Then one day as I was reading through my French lesson for the day, I came across quelque chose<\/strong> (something) that seemed very familiar. I was finally seeing the mot bizarre<\/strong>! Only it wasn\u2019t a mot bizarre<\/strong>, but rather a phrase bizarre<\/strong> (strange sentence):<\/p>\n

Dans ce cas<\/strong> (In that case)<\/p>\n
