The French language is the fifth most spoken in the world and opens doors to many countries and cultures beyond <strong>l\u2019hexagone<\/strong> (<em>The Hexagon<\/em>, common term for France).<\/p>\n<p>The community of <strong>francophones<\/strong> has even formed a formal organization known as <em>La Francophonie<\/em> that features cultures from every continent <strong>sur terre<\/strong> (on Earth). <em>La Francophonie<\/em> includes 77 member-states and dedicates itself not just to the development of its members, but to the promotion of the many cultures represented within the organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La langue fran\u00e7aise<\/strong> (The French language) doesnt just open doors to <strong>la culture fran\u00e7aise<\/strong> (French culture), but to cultures all over the world. By learning French you don\u2019t just learn <strong>la langue de Moli\u00e8re<\/strong> (<em>The language of Moli\u00e8re<\/em>, common term for the French language), you learn <strong>une langue mondiale<\/strong> (a world language).<\/p>\n<p>While French learners tend to, understandably, focus on France, it&#8217;s pretty cool to be able to have greater access to places like <strong>le S\u00e9n\u00e9gal, le C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, la Suisse, le Vi\u00eat Nam, et des autres pays<\/strong> (and others countries). A country that might surprise some is <strong>le Canada<\/strong>, but with its large French speaking population, there&#8217;s a lot to explore in French <strong>au Canada<\/strong>. French is <strong>une langue mondiale<\/strong> and can be used all over the world in both formal and informal settings.<\/p>\n<p>If you ever get <strong>fatigu\u00e9<\/strong> (tired) in your studies or feel like you\u2019re limiting yourself to France, just remember <em>La Francophonie<\/em> and all the places that are waiting for you <strong>en fran\u00e7ais<\/strong>.
