Pharmacies Are Always Open!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Getting used to <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/when-are-stores-open-in-france\/\">French working hours<\/a> is pretty easy. You just need to plan ahead a little bit, and you can always find small things that are still <strong>ouvert<\/strong> (open) to hold you over if you&#8217;re caught in a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/faire-le-pont-may-holidays-in-france\/\">long holiday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I was fine with all of that and working with the French schedule, until I needed <strong>des m\u00e9dicaments<\/strong> (medicine) on a Sunday. Waking up one Sunday morning not sure how I would be able to get <strong>des m\u00e9dicaments<\/strong> was not a fun way to start the day. I was already sick, but I knew I could get over it with the right <strong>m\u00e9dicaments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>J&#8217;\u00e9tais convaincu que<\/strong> (I was convinced that) I&#8217;d need to suffer through the day and just wait for<strong> lundi matin<\/strong> (Monday morning). After some research, I learned about <strong>les pharmacies de garde<\/strong> (emergency pharmacies).<\/p>\n<p>Understanding the importance of <strong>l&#8217;acc\u00e8s aux m\u00e9dicaments<\/strong> (the access to medicine), <strong>des pharmacies<\/strong> take turns being open <strong>le dimanche<\/strong> (on Sundays). <strong>De cette mani\u00e8re <\/strong>(in this way) there is always <strong>une pharmacie<\/strong> <strong>ouverte<\/strong> nearby.<\/p>\n<p>I knew \u201c24 hour culture\u201d didn&#8217;t exist in France, but was happy to learn <strong>la pharmacie de garde<\/strong> includes night services for emergencies. Even though you wont find a supermarket on every corner <strong>ouvert <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-numbers-learn-how-to-count-from-1-to-1000\/\">24<\/a> sur 24<\/strong> (open 24 hours), there&#8217;s always something open for an emergency.<\/p>\n<p>I also found the useful website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pharmaciesdegarde.com\/\">PharmaciedeGarde.com<\/a>, for finding the closest <strong>pharmacie de garde<\/strong>.
