I’m a big fan of les chansons fran\u00e7aises<\/strong> (French songs) or rather les chansons en fran\u00e7ais<\/strong> (songs in French). Whether they’re from la France<\/a><\/strong>, le Qu\u00e9bec<\/a><\/strong>, or somewhere else in la francophonie<\/a><\/strong>, there’s a lot of musique en fran\u00e7ais<\/strong> that mixes modern styles with a folkier past. One groupe<\/strong> I like is, Mes A\u00efeux<\/em><\/strong> (My Ancestors), a folkier group from le Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ma chanson pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9e<\/strong> (my favorite song) of theirs is D\u00e9g\u00e9neration<\/em><\/strong>. A song about the changes from one generation to the next. La chanson<\/strong> comes across as melancholic, but in the end is about something each and every generation has in common.<\/p>\n

La chanson<\/strong> isn’t sung with a thick accent canadien<\/strong> and is donc<\/strong> (thus) easy for all French speakers to understand.<\/p>\n
