As many of you may know,\u00a0Star Wars: The Force Awakens<\/em> has recently been released to both great anticipation and great acclaim. In fact, in the US data suggests that The Force Awakens\u00a0<\/em>might be the highest US grossing film…EVER.<\/p>\n

That’s not to say that Star Wars films are limited to the US, either. Star Wars, also known by its French name\u00a0La Guerre des \u00e9toiles\u00a0<\/em>is a well-loved franchise in France as well.\u00a0Le R\u00e9veil de la force<\/em>, as it is known, has broken records across the hexagone<\/em> as it has across the United States. In fact, 600,000 Star Wars fans in Paris saw the film during its opening weekend–beating out the previous record opener\u00a0Bienvenu chez les Chtis\u00a0<\/em><\/em>in 2008.<\/p>\n

And, now, more good news for Star Wars fans: According to recent data by Forbes, Star Wars fans are more likely to have larger salaries than those who don’t like\u00a0this famous saga–but it depends on which character you identify most with. According to the\u00a0Le Monde\u00a0<\/em>blog:<\/a><\/p>\n

“Qui sont les fans (nombreux) de Star Wars ? Des hommes \u00e2g\u00e9s de\u00a018 \u00e0 44 ans, qui aiment regarder des programmes scientifiques, d’histoire ou des films d’horreur \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9, et travaillent dans les technologie de l’information ou le droit. C’est ce que conclut une \u00e9tude\u00a0de la compagnie am\u00e9ricaine Quantcast reprise par le magazine\u00a0Forbes<\/a>. Mais, en regardant\u00a0de plus pr\u00e8s, un fan de Luke Skywalker semble avoir peu en commun avec un fan de Dark Vador, de la princesse Le\u00efa ou de Han Solo.”<\/p>\n

According to this study, fans of Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader were compared based on salary and job titles.<\/p>\n

“Logiquement, c’est Luke Skywalker qui arrive en t\u00eate, avec trois fois plus de vues que tous les autres personnages, “peut-\u00eatre parce qu’il n’apparaissait bizarrement pas dans la bande-annonce”<\/em>, note un des chercheurs en charge de l’\u00e9tude.\u00a0En tout cas, ce sont ses fans qui ont les salaires les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s (de 100 \u00e0 150 000 dollars par an). Ils travaillent surtout dans les affaires.<\/p>\n

Han Solo \u2013 l’ancien contrebandier devenu leader de la cause rebelle \u2013 attire la sympathie des plus jeunes, qui sont aussi les moins fortun\u00e9s (ils gagnent entre 0 et 50 000 dollars par an) et travaillent dans la vente et la construction.<\/p>\n

Les femmes sont surtout fans de la princesse Le\u00efa.\u00a0Quant aux\u00a0admirateurs\u00a0de Dark Vador et du c\u00f4t\u00e9 obscur de la force, ils sont nombreux \u00e0 travailler dans le domaine de la justice, sont en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral plus vieux et gagnent en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral plus que les fans\u00a0des autres personnages.”<\/p>\n
