A lot of people will be using <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/sorry-for-the-time\/\">le temps<\/a><\/strong> to catch up on <strong>les jeux vid\u00e9os<\/strong> (video games) they didn\u2019t have the time to play earlier in the year. Other people will be excited receiving their favorite <strong>jeu<\/strong> as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/christmas-eve-feasts-festivities\/\">un cadeau<\/a><\/strong> (a gift)!<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I\u2019ve been sucked into my early <strong>cadeau<\/strong> of <em>Final Fantasy VI <\/em>(in French the title <strong>du jeu<\/strong> is also in English) and have been enjoying playing through the classic game for the first time. I am not playing the game in English though.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Un jeu vid\u00e9o<\/strong> can actually be a great opportunity to practice your French! Most games allow you to change the language of the entire game, giving you a new way to immerse yourself in the language even if you\u2019re nowhere near <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-around-the-world-la-francophonie\/\"><strong>la francophonie<\/strong><\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>While some of <strong>le vocabulaire<\/strong> like <strong>la q<span class=\"st\">ueue de ph\u00e9nix<\/span>, l&#8217;\u00e9ther, et la potion<\/strong> (phoenix down, ether, and potion), is not very useful, it still provides a great opportunity to both have fun and learn. <strong>D&#8217;ailleurs<\/strong> (in any case), those words aren&#8217;t very useful in English either!<\/p>\n<p>Learning with <strong>les jeux vid\u00e9os<\/strong> works best with <strong>un jeu de r\u00f4le<\/strong> (a roleplaying game), or any <strong>jeu<\/strong> that has an intricate story and tons of dialogue. <strong>Cela dit<\/strong> (that said), it&#8217;s still useful even if you\u2019re just rushing through <strong>le tutoriel<\/strong> (the tutorial) of <strong>un jeu<\/strong> more focused on<strong> l&#8217;action<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>While you\u2019re rushing to buy your favorite <strong>jeux<\/strong> during <strong>les soldes d&#8217;hiver sur Steam<\/strong> (the winter sales on Steam), <strong>pensez \u00e0<\/strong> (think about) changing the language to French to help you keep learning even while you\u2019re having fun this <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/still-looking-for-ideas-for-your-christmas-menu\/\">holiday season<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<img width=\"350\" height=\"254\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/12\/8339705719_07c4e8b14d_z-350x254.jpg\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image tmp-hide-img\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/12\/8339705719_07c4e8b14d_z-350x254.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/12\/8339705719_07c4e8b14d_z.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><p>The holiday season is here and that means gifts, les march\u00e9s de no\u00ebl, and le temps libre (free time).
