{"id":23003,"date":"2016-03-02T14:01:34","date_gmt":"2016-03-02T13:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/?p=23003"},"modified":"2017-10-24T16:07:26","modified_gmt":"2017-10-24T14:07:26","slug":"voici-jean-guromarch-real-french-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/voici-jean-guromarch-real-french-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Voici Jean Guromarc&#8217;h \u2013 Real French Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Living in a language can sometimes be hard to understand.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s difficult to imagine <strong>des personnes r\u00e9elles qui vivent une vraie vie, travaillent, font les courses, etc<\/strong> (real people living real lives, working, grocery shopping, etc), when you\u2019re staring at <strong>des tableaux de conjugaison<\/strong> (conjugation tables) for hours on end.<\/p>\n<p>I recently thought about making French more real for those outside <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-around-the-world-la-francophonie\/\"><strong>la francophonie<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Living in France, <strong>ma vie est en fran\u00e7ais<\/strong> (my life is in French), and I meet people every day who use French without ever having to wonder if a word is <strong>masculin<\/strong> or <strong>feminin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>My idea is to start a <em>Real French<\/em> series where I interview French people and have them talk about <strong>d&#8217;o\u00f9 ils viennent et ce qu&#8217;ils font dans la vie<\/strong> (where they are from and what they do for a living). It&#8217;s is a fun way to share more French voices with all of our readers!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dans cet esprit<\/strong> (with that in <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-adverbs-and-their-minds\/\">mind<\/a>), when I wrote about <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/22978-2\/\"><strong>le jazz manouche<\/strong><\/a>, I hinted at a musician friend of mine who I had interviewed. <strong>Le musicien<\/strong> is <em>Jean Guyomarc&#8217;h<\/em>, a member of several different groups who tour around France! I first had the pleasure to hear him and his group, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alternatecake.com\/\"><em>Alternate Cake<\/em><\/a>, play at a local bar.
