The end of the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/sick-as-a-dog-catching-a-cold-in-french\/\">cold<\/a> months means that people will start opening up their houses and letting in <strong>l&#8217;air frais<\/strong> (fresh air).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-28959\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/04\/paris-341094_960_720.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"722\" height=\"303\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/04\/paris-341094_960_720.jpg 960w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/04\/paris-341094_960_720-350x147.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/04\/paris-341094_960_720-768x322.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 722px) 100vw, 722px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t realize I had a big hole in my <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/22685-2\/\"><strong>vocabulaire fran\u00e7ais<\/strong><\/a> until I was <strong>chez mon ami<\/strong> (at my friend\u2019s place) and we were going to take a picture but <strong>le soleil<\/strong> (the sun) was too strong. I had an interesting conversation with<strong> mon ami:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Je peux fermer les stores.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Les stores\u00a0?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Oui les stores. Pour le soleil.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Et comment \u00e7a s\u2019\u00e9crit\u00a0?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Les stores. S-T-O-R-E-S.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ah d\u2019accord ! Je ne <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/imparfait\/\">connaissais<\/a> pas le mot pour les stores !<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I can close the blinds.<br \/>\nThe shutters?<br \/>\nYes the shutters. For the sun.<br \/>\nAnd how do you spell it?<br \/>\nThe blinds. B-L-I-N-D-S.<br \/>\nAh okay! I didn\u2019t know the word for shutters!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I then realized that <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/how-to-find-a-hardware-store-in-french\/\"><strong>je ne connaissais pas<\/strong><\/a> many of the word for <em>shutters<\/em>, <em>curtains<\/em>, and other window related vocabulary.
