{"id":23463,"date":"2016-06-07T05:17:07","date_gmt":"2016-06-07T03:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/?p=23463"},"modified":"2016-06-08T13:25:19","modified_gmt":"2016-06-08T11:25:19","slug":"que-vas-tu-faire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/que-vas-tu-faire\/","title":{"rendered":"Que vas-tu faire? *"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After last week\u2019s example of the <em>pass\u00e9 compos\u00e9<\/em>, I thought this week we\u2019d take a look ahead . . . to the <em>avenir<\/em> (\u201c<em>the future<\/em>\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>There are two common ways of forming the future in French: the <em>futur proche<\/em> which like the <em>pass\u00e9 compos\u00e9<\/em> is formed using an auxillary verb (recall that the <em>pass\u00e9 compos\u00e9<\/em> is formed using the verb <em>avoir <\/em>for most verbs, and <em>\u00eatre<\/em> for a handful of verbs mostly related to movement in space as described in this excellent <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/le-passe-compose\/\">post<\/a> from 2010; in the case of the <em>futur proche<\/em> the auxillary verb is \u2018<em>aller\u2019<\/em> \/ to go) and the <em>futur simple<\/em> which is formed by adding endings to the stem of the verb.<\/p>\n<p>The song below by Sheila, makes use of the <em>future simple<\/em> and includes lots of other great vocabulary.<\/p>\n<p>Endings for regular verbs in the <em>future simple<\/em> (Note: for regular -er and -ir verbs, you simply add the ending to the infinitive form of the verb;
