When I’m walking around France the entire world is my textbook. The sounds of everyday life teach me new things like what exactly un tournevis<\/strong><\/a> is or how to buy batteries<\/a>. I also get to hear de la musique fran\u00e7aise<\/strong> (French music) just by walking around<\/a>, but sometimes I hear a song I really like and have no idea who is singing it!<\/p>\n

A few months ago I was in un caf\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> and between sips of du caf\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> I noticed la musique<\/strong>. I really liked it, but had never heard it before. I had to ask le serveur<\/strong> (the barista) who was singing!<\/p>\n

\n Ah, c\u2019est Baptiste W. Hamon.<\/strong>
\n J\u2019aime bien sa voix, il n\u2019y a pas beaucoup de chanteurs comme lui en France.<\/strong>
\n Ouais, et vous savez, il fait un concert ce soir \u00e0 Paris\u00a0! Vous pouvez aller le voir\u00a0!<\/strong>

\nSo who is Baptiste W. Hamon?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Baptiste W. Hamon is a newcomer to the French music scene. His first album came out last year en 2016<\/strong><\/a>. Son style<\/strong> (his style) is a mix of la musique folk et country am\u00e9ricaine<\/strong> (American folk and country music). While he does occasionally sing en anglais<\/strong> (in English), he mostly sings en fran\u00e7ais<\/strong> (in French), while keeping son style am\u00e9ricain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As an American, it makes his songs sound somewhat familiar even though they are in French!<\/p>\n

I wanted to share that first song I heard in le caf\u00e9<\/strong> with all of you, and remind everyone to ask qui chante cette chanson<\/strong> <\/em>when you are in la francophonie<\/strong><\/a> and you hear une chanson<\/strong> that you love<\/a>!<\/p>\n
