Licensed under CC BY 2.0.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Every trip <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/back-to-the-store\/\"><strong>au magasin<\/strong><\/a> (to the store) is a learning experience <strong>en France<\/strong>. Whether I am trying to figure out the difference between <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/properly-soft-laundry-in-french\/\">detergent and softeners<\/a>, not knowing how to ask for <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/how-to-find-a-hardware-store-in-french\/\"><strong>un tournevis<\/strong><\/a>, or buying <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/sleeping-better-on-a-french-bed\/\"><strong>un nouveau lit<\/strong><\/a>, I have learned a lot of new vocabulary <strong>au magasin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Par exemple<\/strong> (for example), there were <strong>beaucoup de <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/celebrate-french-tell-me-10-words\/\">nouveaux mots<\/a><\/strong> (many new words) waiting for me in <strong>la salle de bains<\/strong> (the bathroom). From <strong>l\u2019apr\u00e8s-shampooing<\/strong> (conditioner) to <strong>le gel douche<\/strong> (body wash), the first time I needed to buy bathroom supplies was an exercise in new vocabulary.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of everything for<strong> la douche <\/strong>(the shower), I also had to think about <strong>le lavabo<\/strong> (the bathroom sink).
