In French, the word for car is\u00a0voiture.\u00a0<\/em>The word\u00a0v<\/em>oiture\u00a0<\/em>is feminine, so it is\u00a0la voiture.\u00a0<\/em>The verb “to drive” in French is\u00a0conduire.\u00a0<\/em>Conduire\u00a0<\/em>can also mean “to conduct or lead” in addition its main definition. Conduire\u00a0<\/em>is also an irregular verb. Here is the conjugation of\u00a0conduire\u00a0<\/em>in the present tense:<\/p>\n

Le klaxon<\/em><\/p>\n

Le volant\u00a0<\/em> \u00a0the steering wheel<\/p>\n

Le tableau de bord \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>the dashboard<\/p>\n

Le clignotant \u00a0 \u00a0<\/em>the\u00a0<\/em>turn signal\/indicator<\/p>\n

Le phare \u00a0 \u00a0<\/em>the headlight<\/p>\n

There are also certain phrases that might be useful if you fall into any problems while driving in France. Hopefully, you’ll never need to use some of the following phrases!<\/p>\n

L’autoroute est payante. \u00a0<\/em>The highway charges tolls.<\/p>\n

Je suis en panne d’essence. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>I ran out of gas.<\/p>\n

Il faut que je fasse le plein. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/em>I need to fill up the tank.<\/p>\n

J’ai un pneu crev\u00e9. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>I have a flat tire.<\/p>\n

C’est un feu vert\/rouge. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>It’s a green\/red light.<\/p>\n

Il faut gonfler les pneus. \u00a0<\/em>The tires need to be inflated.<\/p>\n

Il y a un probl\u00e8me de freins. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>There’s a problem with the brakes.<\/p>\n

Le pare-brise est cass\u00e9. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>The windshield is broken.<\/p>\n

Ma voiture est en panne. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>My car broke down.<\/p>\n
