As is the case in many countries, <strong>les Fran\u00e7ais<\/strong> (<em>the French<\/em>) use <strong>le jour de l\u2019An*\u00a0<\/strong>(<em>New Year\u2019s day) <\/em>to declare <strong>leurs bonnes intentions <\/strong>(<em>their good intentions)<\/em> for the year ahead.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-31017\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2019\/01\/pexels-photo-288394-350x233.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2019\/01\/pexels-photo-288394-350x233.jpeg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2019\/01\/pexels-photo-288394.jpeg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Les bonnes r\u00e9solutions pour la nouvelle** ann\u00e9e<\/strong> (<em>New Year\u2019s resolutions<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/new-years-resolutions-in-french\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a few years<\/a>\u00a0since we looked at making resolutions in French and with all <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-current-events-update-on-les-gilets-jaunes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the crazy news coming out of France<\/a> (and beyond) recently, now seems like as good a time as any to talk about the ways that we can all <strong>faire un monde meilleur<\/strong> (<em>make a better world).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes when someone makes <strong>une r\u00e9solution<\/strong> (<em>a resolution<\/em>), you can tell how committed they are (<em>sometimes<\/em>) by how they phrase it. Success (or failure) often depends on how committed you are.
