One of the things I always loved about living in France was just how much history was \u2026 everywhere! On my very first visit to la Bretagne<\/strong><\/a> my host brother took me to see le Mont Saint-Michel <\/strong>and to the ruins of an ancient ch\u00e2teau fort <\/strong>in the middle of the woods. For a kid from les Etats-Unis <\/strong>(the United States) <\/em>seeing these old buildings was amazing.<\/p>\n

But keeping all of these splendeurs<\/strong> (splendors) <\/em>sparkling and accessible to the public takes work. Enter Dartagnans!<\/strong><\/a> Launched by Romain Delaume and\u00a0 named for the hero of Les trois mousquetaires<\/strong><\/a>, Dartagans is le start-up qui veut sauver les ch\u00e2teaux<\/strong> (the start-up who wants to save the castles).<\/em> It is, according to their site, la platforme de crowdfunding (autrement dit de financement participative) exclusivement d\u00e9di\u00e9e au rayonnement et \u00e0 la pr\u00e9servation de patrimoine <\/strong>(the crowdfunding (or participative financing) platform exclusively dedicated to the highlighting and protection of the national heritage\/legacy).<\/em><\/p>\n
