In addition to\u00a0<strong>les crayons \u00e0 papiers<\/strong> (<em>pencils),\u00a0<\/em><strong>les stylos<\/strong> (<em>pens)<\/em>, and\u00a0<strong>les feutres<\/strong> (<em>markers)<\/em> (not to mention <strong>la trousse<\/strong>\/<em>the pencil case<\/em> to put them all in), parents will need to buy <strong>un cartable<\/strong> (<em>book bag\/satchel)<\/em>\u00a0<b>et les livres pour chaque mati\u00e8re <\/b>(<em>and the books for each subject).\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While expenses for the little ones have gone down, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.francetvinfo.fr\/decouverte\/vacances\/fournitures-scolaires-le-rush-des-parents-a-quelques-jours-de-la-rentree_3598177.html#xtor=EPR-744-[newsletterjt]-20190831-[sujet4]\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to this report<\/a>, parents of older children (<strong>les collegiens<\/strong> \/\u00a0<em>middle-school kids)<\/em> can expect to pay as much as 361 \u20ac.<\/p>\n<div class=\"woo-sc-box  normal   \">Video Tip: News reports presented on FranceTVInfo.fr are accompanied by helpful summaries that include much of the key vocabulary from the video. It&#8217;s difficult both for the towns and for the parents, some of whom have their kids going off to different towns during the day.
