Regardless of how fluent your fran\u00e7ais<\/strong><\/em> is, a great and sure-to-work way of improving your French listening skills is by turing the\u00a0French radio <\/strong>on. <\/strong>The good news is, as far as French radio stations are concerned, ce n’est pas \u00e7a qui manque<\/em><\/strong>(they don’t come in short supply)!<\/p>\n

Oui, d’accord, mais laquelle dois-tu choisir ?<\/em> <\/strong>(Yes, ok, but which one should you choose)?<\/p>\n

To help you out make up your mind, here’s a little aper\u00e7u global <\/strong><\/em>(global outline) of the TOP 10 radios<\/strong> that were able to conquer millions of pairs d’oreilles fran\u00e7aises et francophones<\/strong> <\/em>(French and Francopohone pairs of ears), briefly describing their parcours<\/strong> <\/em>(trails) and their \u00e9missions <\/strong><\/em>(shows),\u00a0and some of the main French media figures -or voices, actually- standing behind them.<\/p>\n

D’abord<\/em><\/strong> (First), RTL, <\/strong>or “Radio T\u00e9l\u00e9vision Luxembourg<\/span><\/strong><\/em>“, (Cliquez ici—Click here<\/a>) <\/strong>the station that was able to fulfill its devise<\/em><\/strong> (motto) “<\/strong>1re radio de France<\/em><\/strong>” <\/strong>(“1st radio of France”) throughout the past ten years. It belongs to le g\u00e9<\/em>ant multinational<\/em><\/strong> (the multinational giant) Bertelsmann<\/strong>, which is mainly\u00a0d\u00e9tenue par<\/em><\/strong>(owned by) the famous German Mohn<\/strong> family. The private national TV channel M6<\/strong>, for example,is also partially owned by the Bertelsmann Group.<\/p>\n

With a si\u00e8ge<\/strong> <\/em>(headquarters) broadcasting nearby les Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es<\/strong> <\/em>(rue Bayard), this station de radio<\/em><\/strong> boasts des <\/strong>\u00e9missions<\/strong><\/em> (shows) that were able to conquer a large audience, such as the one animated by\u00a0French humorist\u00a0Laurent G<\/strong>erra<\/strong>, <\/em>or his much older “pote<\/strong>” <\/em>(buddy), Philippe Bouvard<\/strong>, who is widely famous to French people for\u00a0his now “classic” show called “Les Grosses T\u00eates<\/strong><\/em>” <\/strong>(literally “the Big Heads”), which was also a very successful TV show in the 1990s.<\/p>\n
