For many, the challenging times are taking a toll. When families are forced to occupy the same space for prolonged periods, <em>tensions can rise<\/em> for even the most loving <strong>familles<\/strong> (<em>families<\/em>). A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.com\/publication\/confinement-ma-casa-va-craquer\/?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Envoi%20aux%20abonns%20Opinion%20-%2008042020&amp;utm_content=Envoi%20aux%20abonns%20Opinion%20-%2008042020+CID_ba96c5fd97df1435ded63de43e52f53f&amp;utm_source=Campagne%20emailing%20Opinion&amp;utm_term=Confinement%20%20Ma%20casa%20va%20craquer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recent study<\/a> from the team at <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-culture-what-do-the-french-think\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IFOP<\/a> highlights a few of the major causes of this added stress.<\/p>\n<p><b>Selon l&#8217;enqu\u00eate aupr\u00e8s de 3 000\u00a0Fran\u00e7ais<\/b>\u00a0(<em>according to the research study of 3,000 French<\/em>):<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">&#8211; <strong>&#8220;Les t\u00e2ches m\u00e9nag\u00e8res sont une source de conflit plus fr\u00e9quentes en milieu confin\u00e9 qu&#8217;en temps normal&#8221;<\/strong> (<em>Household chores are a more frequent source of conflict for those in confinement than in normal times),<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0<\/em>For those with kids at home,\u00a0<strong>l&#8217;accompagnement scolaire des enfants est aussi une source majeure de tensions au sein des couples\u00a0<\/strong>(<em>helping with the kids&#8217; studies is also a major source of stress for couples),<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0<\/em>And in this time of confinement, couples are more likely to argue about\u00a0<b>la gestion des d\u00e9placements hors du domicile, des activit\u00e9s de loisirs faites ensemble, et la nourriture\/le menu des repas<\/b> (<em>managing trips outside the home, group activities\/leisure activities to do together, and food\/the menu for meals).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mais la vie continue!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is so important to remember at this challenging time <em>that life goes on<\/em>! <a href=\"https:\/\/www.francetvinfo.fr\/sante\/maladie\/coronavirus\/confinement-les-francais-tiennent-ils-tout-le-coup-moralement_3910931.html#xtor=EPR-744-[newsletterjt]-20200411-[sujet1]\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This video from France 2<\/a> features Arnaud &#8211; <strong>un p\u00e8re de famille<\/strong> (<em>a family father<\/em>)\u00a0<b>qui s&#8217;est donn\u00e9 un d\u00e9fi pendant le confinement: une photo de famille (ludique) tous les deux jours<\/b> (<em>challenged himself, and his family, to make a fun picture every two days<\/em>) &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0<strong>nouvelle maman<\/strong> (<em>new mother<\/em>) Julie, 20-year old Paul\u00a0<strong>confine chez ses parents<\/strong> (<em>confined at his parent&#8217;s house<\/em>), and a second Julie, this one who has already had and recovered from Covid-19 &#8230; <strong>tous en qu\u00eate de sens \u00e0 ce confinement<\/strong> (<em>all looking for some sense to this confinement).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>P\u00e2ques<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This past weekend, for many around the world, was <em><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/joyeuses-paques-easter-vocabulary-in-french\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Easter<\/a> &#8230; <\/em>a perfect reminder, indeed, tht life goes on. Many churches remained closed and services of many kinds were improvised and transmitted around the world online.
