While France1<\/a><\/sup>Including the Eiffel Tower<\/a> !<\/span> (and parts of the US, where I live) are starting to open back up<\/a>, we can all sometimes still use a little escapism to take us away from the challenges that life can present. Especially with all the complex issues facing the world<\/a> today, I thought this week we\u2019d spend some time on comfort food \u2026 for the soul.<\/p>\n

A few years ago, and honestly I\u2019m no longer quite sure where or how, I discovered a wonderful little French musical production called Le Soldat Rose<\/strong> (The Pink Soldier<\/em>). Now a trilogy, Le Soldat Rose raconte l\u2019histoire d\u2019un soldat<\/strong> \u2026 rose<\/strong> (tells the story of a soldier \u2026 a pink one<\/em>).<\/p>\n

La premi\u00e8re partie, appel\u00e9 tout simplement Le Soldat Rose<\/strong> (the first part, called simply The Pink Soldier<\/em>) introduces us to our hero as he helps rescue un petit garcon nomm\u00e9 Joseph<\/strong> (a little boy named Joseph<\/em>) who finds himself overnight dans un grand magasin<\/a><\/strong> (in a department store<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Dans la deuxi\u00e8me<\/a> partie <\/strong>(In the second part)<\/em> we find the little soldier and his friends visiting un orphelinat<\/strong> (orphanage<\/em>) where les autres jouets<\/strong> (the other toys<\/em>) try and help r\u00e9soudre <\/strong>(to solve<\/em>) an embarrassing problem for the soldier.<\/p>\n

La troisi\u00e8me partie, Le Soldat Rose \u00e0 la fabrique de jouets, nous ram\u00e8ne en arri\u00e8re<\/b> (The third part, the Pink Soldier at the toy factory, takes us backwards<\/em>) to discover the origins of the soldier\u2019s unique color scheme \u2026 and to learn how he got to the grand magasin<\/strong> where the story started in the first place.<\/p>\n
