In today\u2019s world of global pandemics and <strong>changement climatique<\/strong> (<em>climate change<\/em>), we all need to work together if we want to <strong>proteger la Terre<\/strong> (<em>protect the Earth)<\/em>. If we do, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.robhopkins.net\/2018\/02\/20\/a-chat-with-catastrophe-everything-could-always-be-otherwise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201c<strong>tout pourrait \u00eatre autrement<\/strong>\u201d (<em>everything could be different<\/em>)<\/a>. And if not \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Well, in <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/YcNwd6jzu98\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this video<\/a> the group reminds us that <strong>l\u2019univers continuera sans nous &#8230; et les <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-vocabulary-town-and-country\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">villes<\/a> deviendront des forets <\/strong>(<em>the universe will go on without us &#8230; and the cities will become forests). <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mais il faut garder l\u2019espoir<\/strong> (<em>but we must have hope<\/em>) that life will go on so that we have time to do all the things we cherish <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/IK46ZvQ1iKo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>encore et encore<\/strong><\/a> (<em>again and again; still<\/em><sup class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote \" data-mfn=\"1\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"0000000000002ec30000000000000000_32274\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-0000000000002ec30000000000000000_32274-1\">1<\/a><\/sup><span id=\"mfn-content-0000000000002ec30000000000000000_32274-1\" role=\"tooltip\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote__note\" tabindex=\"0\" data-mfn=\"1\">See<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/so-many-confusing-pairs-encore-vs-toujours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> this previous post<\/a> for an explanation of the different possible meanings of <em>encore<\/em>.<\/span><em>).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The group, <a href=\"http:\/\/lacatastrophe.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Catastrophe<\/strong><\/a>, are equal parts musical troupe and performance artists as illustrated by <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/IDH2tnRI0p8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this clip<\/a>. I especially like <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/GI2Cffk9hN0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this one that highlights the power of travel<\/a> . Or enjoy a little virtual travel of your own with <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/6wc-SkXKc0A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this\u00a0<strong>carte postale virtuelle<\/strong> (<em>virtual postcard).<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"woo-sc-box  normal   \"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-culture-the-little-prince\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Le Petit Prince<\/a>: nouvelle ecolo?<\/strong> (<em>The Little Prince: Green novella?<\/em>) Why does Le Petit Prince evoke <strong>l\u2019avenir de notre plan\u00e8te pour moi<\/strong> (<em>the future of our planet for me<\/em>)? Two reasons: <strong>les baobabs et les volcans<\/strong> (<em>baobabs and volcanoes<\/em>). The little prince wants his new friend to <strong>lui <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-music-mylene-farmer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dessiner un mouton<\/a><\/strong> so that it can keep the baobabs in check before they can do lasting damage to his fragile home. <strong>\u201cSi la plan\u00e8te est trop petite, et si les baobabs sont trop nombreux, ils la font \u00e9clater \u00bb<\/strong> (<em>if the planet is too small, and if the baobabs are too many, they will blow it apart<\/em>). And, on his planet the little prince has three volcanoes, <b>deux en activit\u00e9s et un \u00e9teint<\/b> (<em>two active ones and one dormant<\/em>).
