Easter was this past weekend, or P\u00e2ques<\/strong><\/a>, as it is known in France. Et qui dit P\u00e2ques, dit printemps<\/strong>1<\/a><\/sup>And when you say Easter, you say spring<\/em><\/span>. But this printemps<\/strong> will be unlike any other as France is in the midst of a third nationwide Covid lockdown. Still, spring<\/a> in Paris is something to be celebrated.<\/p>\n

Un troisi\u00e8me confinement bis<\/a><\/h3>\n

A few weeks ago<\/a> I reported on France’s third lockdown<\/em>. At the time, the\u00a0confinement\u00a0<\/strong>only applied to those parts of the country that were hardest hit by the latest wave of Covid-19. As of today (le 6 avril<\/strong>2<\/a><\/sup>April 6<\/em><\/span>), that\u00a0confinement<\/strong> has been generalized to the whole country.<\/p>\n

For the next\u00a0quatre semaines<\/strong>3<\/a><\/sup>four weeks<\/em><\/span> the\u00a0couvre-feu<\/strong><\/a> between 7 pm and 6 am will continue and a new\u00a0attestation<\/a> pour les d\u00e9placements dans un rayon de 10 kilom\u00e8tres autour du lieu d’habitation est<\/b> disponible<\/strong>4<\/a><\/sup>declaration for outings within 10 kms of a place of residence is now available<\/em><\/span> but now with the added restriction that il est d\u00e9sormais impossible de se d\u00e9placer entre r\u00e9gions sauf motifs\u00a0imp\u00e9rieux<\/b><\/a>5<\/a><\/sup>it is henceforth impossible to travel between regions<\/a> without an urgent reason<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Printemps \u00e0 Paris<\/h3>\n

While this April in Paris will be dominated by the latest\u00a0confinement<\/strong> – and let’s be honest, April in Paris can also be rainy, raw, and gray! – when\u00a0le printemps arrive<\/strong> there is no better\u00a0avril<\/strong> than one spent in Paris … one like the one that this little song (with a fun modern clip) from the French singer Jacqueline Ta\u00efeb<\/a> evokes.<\/p>\n
