‘Le futur simple’ –<\/strong><\/em> the simple future<\/h3>\n

Le futur simple<\/em> in French is used to discuss future plans, intentions, or predictions. In English, we use ‘will’ or ‘shall’ when expressing the future. Keep reading to discover how to form the future simple tense in French.<\/p>\n

Take the infinitive of the verb and add the endings –ai<\/strong>, –as<\/strong>, –a<\/strong>, –ons<\/strong>, –ez<\/strong>, –ont<\/strong>. Exemple :<\/em><\/h3>\n

Jouer – <\/em>to play<\/p>\n

Je jouerai <\/strong><\/em>– I will play
\nTu joueras<\/strong><\/em> – You will play
\nIl\/Elle\/On jouera\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>– He\/She\/One will play
\nNous jouerons –\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>We will play
\nVous jouerez –\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>You all will play
\nIls\/Elles joueront\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>– They will play<\/p>\n

For the verbs that end in –re<\/strong>, drop the “e<\/strong>” and add the endings. Exemple :<\/em><\/h3>\n
