After a brief six month break, Season Two of <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/snow-covers-france\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the series that reintroduced Marcel Leblanc&#8217;s <em>gentleman cambrioleur<\/em> to the world<\/a> has landed on Netflix.<\/p>\n<h3>Lupin<\/h3>\n<p>Season One&#8217;s short five-episode run ended with a real cliffhanger<sup id=\"mfn-content-00000000000030d50000000000000000_33818-1\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote \" data-mfn=\"1\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"00000000000030d50000000000000000_33818\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-00000000000030d50000000000000000_33818-1\">1<\/a><\/sup><span role=\"tooltip\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote__note\" tabindex=\"0\" data-mfn=\"1\">According to the site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.culture.fr\/franceterme\/result?francetermeSearchTerme=cliffhanger&amp;francetermeSearchDomaine=0&amp;francetermeSearchSubmit=rechercher&amp;action=search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FranceTerm<\/a>, the proper French term for <em>a cliffhanger<\/em> is <em>un suspens &#8230; <\/em>but <a href=\"https:\/\/context.reverso.net\/traduction\/anglais-francais\/cliffhanger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">it doesn&#8217;t seem to be very commonly used<\/a>.<\/span>. Without giving anything away, I&#8217;ll just say that\u00a0<strong>la saison deux<\/strong> wastes no time diving right back into the action, staring off with a very dramatic first episode.<\/p>\n<p>As someone who grew up reading the novellas, I was thrilled to see how, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/06\/11\/arts\/television\/lupin-part-2-netflix.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this New York Times article<\/a> at least, the series has led to renewed interest around the world in the books that inspired the series. Since the books are now in the\u00a0 public domain, you can read them for yourself if you&#8217;d like thanks to Project Gutenberg. There is sadly currently only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gutenberg.org\/ebooks\/32854\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one version available in the original French<\/a>, but there are many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gutenberg.org\/ebooks\/author\/1358\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">English translations<\/a> available.<\/p>\n<p>The fun promotional video below, in which the actor &#8211; and start of Lupin! &#8211; Omar Sy poses as <strong>un c<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">olleur d&#8217;affiches <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">dans le M\u00e9tro,<\/span> pokes fun at the underlying concept of many of Ars\u00e8ne Lupin&#8217;s adventures (that he operates more or less in the open but always under the radar).
