Paris is a wonderful city for art lovers. Wandering the streets is a treat for the senses. A day at the museum<\/h3>\n

Tout le monde<\/a> conna\u00eet le Louvre<\/a><\/strong>3<\/a><\/sup>Everyone knows the Louvre<\/em><\/span>. The worlds largest art museum4<\/a><\/sup>both in actual size and in terms of the size of its collection<\/span>, is surely the most well-known art museum in France … perhaps the world. The Louvre is not only the world’s largest art museum, it is also the world’s most visited. But the Louvre is just one of many wonderful museums.<\/p>\n

Le Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay<\/h4>\n

Just across the river Seine from the Louvre, housed in an old train station, is the wonderful Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay<\/a>. Famous for its collection of Impressionist paintings, the Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay is also simply an amazing building full of interesting architectural details \u2026 including its very photographed\u00a0horloges<\/strong><\/a>5<\/a><\/sup>clocks<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Paris’s newest museum<\/h4>\n

Paris’s newest contemporary art museum is also housed in an architectural gem6<\/a><\/sup>One as old as the Eiffel Tower and like the tower was inaugurated for the 1889 Universal Exposition. <\/span>‘. Billionaire Fran\u00e7ois Pinault<\/a> renovated the historic Bourse de Commerce<\/a> to house a portion of his collection and challenged the Japanese architect Tadao Ando to create a space that would\u00a0mettre en valeur la collection<\/strong>7<\/a><\/sup>show off\/highlight the collection<\/em><\/span> while highlighting the historic nature of the building. Le Centre Pompidou<\/h4>\n

For something a little more modern – both in terms of architecture<\/a> and collections, le Centre Pompidou, located in Paris’s 4th arrondissemen<\/a>t, houses “la 1\u00e8re collection d’art moderne et contemporain d’Europe<\/strong><\/a>“8<\/a><\/sup>Europe’s number one collection of modern and contemporary art<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n

A focus on the artist<\/h4>\n

If you want to go deep on one artist, Paris also offers you the opportunity to visit museums like the Mus\u00e9e Rodin<\/a> – where you can see famous works like Le Penseur,<\/strong>\u00a0Le Baiser, La Porte de l’Enfer, et Les Bourgeois de Calais<\/strong>9<\/a><\/sup>The Thinker, The Kiss, The Gates of Hell, The Burghers of Calais<\/em><\/span> – or the Mus\u00e9e Picasso<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Did you know?<\/strong> You don’t actually have to visit the Rodin Museum to see The Thinker. There is another on display in the Varenne M\u00e9tro stop near by<\/a>, along with a statue of the author Balzac, both castings made by Rodin from his original works! These are just some of the art you can discover travelling under Paris on the M\u00e9tro<\/a>.<\/div>\n
