One of the reasons I\u2019ve always loved the Eurovision Song Contest is because of just how odd it can be. This year\u2019s competition may already be\u00a0dans le r\u00e9troviseur<\/strong>1<\/a><\/sup>in the rear view mirror<\/em><\/span>\u00a0but I just had to share this little gem from 2014 by the rock-pop-hip-hop French trio Twin Twin.<\/p>\n

Moustache2<\/a><\/sup>Moustache<\/em>, while typically associated with men, is actually feminine \u2026 une\/la moustache<\/em>. And as per this entry from larousse.fr<\/a> it can be used in the singular (\u201cIl a une belle moustache<\/em>\u201d) or plural (\u201cIl a des belles moustaches<\/em>\u201d).<\/span><\/h3>\n

Earning only 2 points<\/a>, the song finished a disappointing 26th (out of 26!) and came into the competition under a bit of a cloud (the group was accused of\u00a0plagi\u00e2t<\/strong>3<\/a><\/sup>plagiarism<\/em><\/span> for similarities between the song\u2019s opening riff and Stomae\u2019s hit Papaoutai<\/a> as well as a strong resemblance to the early 90\u2019s novelty hit Dur dur d\u2019\u00eatre baby<\/strong><\/a>4<\/a><\/sup>Hard hard to be a baby<\/em><\/span>\u00a0by the young Jordy).<\/p>\n

Still, this kind of catchy fun is always good in my book!<\/p>\n
