Before we leave l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9<\/strong>3<\/a><\/sup>summer<\/em><\/span> completely behind though, let\u2019s revisit one more great summer song<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fallen for France<\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve said it before, \u00c9tienne Daho\u2019s Tomb\u00e9 pour la France<\/em> is \u201cthe first French song I fell in love with, and it\u2019s still one of my favorites<\/a>\u201d. And now 36 years later, it is still a perennial summer favorite en bo\u00eete<\/em>. I actually can\u2019t believe that in 5 years of blogging for Transparent language, I haven\u2019t given it more than one mention!<\/p>\n

The things you learn!<\/strong>\u00a0I had no idea until I started researching this post that \u00c9tienne Daho was 31 years old<\/a> in 1985 when \u201cla France tombe d\u00e9finitivement pour Daho, [\u2026] \u00a0Tomb\u00e9 pour la France et sa version maxi enflamment les dance floors, [\u2026 et] sa premi\u00e8re tourn\u00e9e se joue \u00e0 guichets ferm\u00e9s<\/strong><\/a>\u201d4<\/a><\/sup>France falls completely for Daho, Tomb\u00e9 pour la France and it\u2019s maxi remix burn up the dance floor, and his first tour is sold out\u00a0<\/em>(lit. plays to closed ticket counters<\/em>)<\/span>.<\/div>\n
