2022 is almost here and I am chanceuse<\/em> (lucky) to be spending it amongst friends in France. I wanted to share a poem with you so you can celebrate \u00e0 la fran\u00e7aise<\/em> (French style) as well:<\/p>\n

Voici la nouvelle ann\u00e9e<\/em>
\nSouriante, enrubann\u00e9e,<\/em>
\nQui pour notre destin\u00e9e,<\/em>
\nPar le ciel nous est donn\u00e9e :<\/em>
\nC\u2019est \u00e0 minuit qu\u2019elle est n\u00e9e.<\/em>
\nLes ans naissent \u00e0 minuit<\/em>
\nL\u2019un arrive, l\u2019autre fuit.<\/em>
\nNouvel an ! Joie et bonheur !<\/em>
\nPourquoi ne suis-je sonneur<\/em>
\nDe cloches, carillonneur,<\/em>
\nPour mieux dire \u00e0 tout le monde<\/em>
\n\u00c0 ceux qui voguent sur l\u2019onde<\/em>
\nOu qui rient dans leurs maisons,<\/em>
\nTous les v\u0153ux que nous faisons<\/em>
\nPour eux, pour toute la Terre<\/em>
\nPour mes amis les enfants<\/em>
\nPour les chasseurs de panth\u00e8res<\/em>
\nEt les dompteurs d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phants.<\/em><\/p>\n

Here comes the New Year
\nBeaming, beribboned,
\nWhich, for our destiny,
\nHeaven gives us:
\nAt midnight it was born.
\nThe years are born at midnight
\nOne arrives, the other flees.
\nNew Year! Joy and happiness!
\nWhy am I not the one who rings
\nThe bells, the bell-ringer,
\nTo better tell everyone,
\nTo those who sail the waves
\nOr those who have fun in their homes,
\nAll the wishes we make
\nFor them, for the whole world
\nFor my friends the children,
\nFor the hunters of panthers
\nAnd the elephant tamers.<\/p>\n
