The word is always a 5 letter word and usually pretty common, so it&#8217;s not necessarily challenging your English vocabulary knowledge, but it&#8217;s a great brain-workout!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what it looks like (don&#8217;t worry, no spoilers for today&#8217;s Wordle as this one is a past one!):<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_34517\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter post-item__attachment\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34517\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-34517\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/01\/2022-01-20-11_21_10--295x350.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"295\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/01\/2022-01-20-11_21_10--295x350.png 295w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/01\/2022-01-20-11_21_10-.png 659w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 295px) 100vw, 295px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-34517\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo taken and shared with permission by user.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>But for language learners, a game like this would be not only a brain-workout, but also a challenging way to test our vocabulary knowledge. <strong>Thankfully someone has also created a French version called <a href=\"https:\/\/sutom.nocle.fr\/#\">SUTOM.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The rules are very similar to Wordle:<\/p>\n<p>___________________<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Vous avez six essais pour deviner le mot du jour.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Vous ne pouvez proposer que des mots commen\u00e7ant par la m\u00eame lettre que le mot recherch\u00e9, et qui se trouvent dans notre dictionnaire.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Les lettres entour\u00e9es d&#8217;un carr\u00e9 rouge sont bien plac\u00e9es,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>les lettres entour\u00e9es d&#8217;un cercle jaune sont mal plac\u00e9es (mais pr\u00e9sentes dans le mot).<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Les lettres qui restent sur fond bleu ne sont pas dans le mot.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Il y a un mot par jour, entre 6 et 9 lettres, et il est identique pour tout le monde. \u00c9vitez donc les spoils et privil\u00e9giez le bouton de partage.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You have six tries to guess the word of the day.<br \/>\nYou can only suggest words starting with the same letter as the searched word, and which are in our dictionary.<br \/>\nThe letters surrounded by a red square are well placed,<br \/>\nthe letters surrounded by a yellow circle are misplaced (but present in the word).<br \/>\nThe letters that remain on a blue background are not in the word.<br \/>\nThere is one word per day, between 6 and 9 letters, and it is the same for everyone. So avoid spoilers and favor the share button.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>___________________<\/p>\n<p>The real fun part is of course then sharing your results, without giving away the answer to anyone who hasn&#8217;t yet done their SUTOM of the day.
